Let's get started! Tell me about yourself and let's plan a great senior photo shoot.
-
When should we shoot? The earlier the better! Being in the Valley, I like to shoot starting in Late October as soon as the heat breaks! All of Fall, Winter, and into Spring are prime weather for your senior photoshoot. If you like greenery, keep in mind the window is smaller in the spring for free shoot locations, but photoshoot permit locations like the Desert Botanical Gardens and Farm at Agritopia are green all season long. For college seniors, I urge you to order your graduation regalia as early as possible if you want photos at the iconic ASU locations like Old Main and Palm Walk. You can get these locations almost entirely to yourself if you take initiative on this - if you wait until the last minute we can still get photos at these places, but go in knowing we'll be waiting upwards of 45 minutes for your photos on the steps of Old Main.
-
Where should we shoot? Some seniors have a place very meaningful to them where they'd like their photos - others are looking for a certain aesthetic, and for others they might not be sure! No matter which one you are, I'm prepared to shoot in any location! I have a long list of recommendations for urban, nature, desert, water, and other backdrops around the Valley to fit any vibe you're looking for! Be aware that several high-demand photo locations in the Valley require a photoshoot permit and a photoshoot fee - if you have one of these places in mind plan for a minimum of 2 weeks to secure that permit, and that these permits cost additional money on top of your session fee.
-
Is there anywhere you won't travel?Your session fee includes travel to any shooting location within 25 miles of my office, shown below. If you'd like to shoot somewhere outside this radius, we can determine a travel rate for the session based on the location you're looking at. And remember - we have nearly ENDLESS options within this radius!
-
What should I wear?Think about your outfit choice and what will match your personality best and show off who you are right now! For some people this is as simple as a high school t-shirt and jeans, for others that means a really nice dressy outfit. And remember, you can always bring multiple outfits!
-
What else should I bring to my shoot?Lots of seniors like to bring props! Here are just a few examples of what others have brought to their shoot: -For band members, your instrument or a piece of guard equipment -A favorite book or textbook from your favorite class -Something to represent your college major -Something to represent the university you'll be attending -A graduation cap, gown, with stoles and cords (order your cap and gown ASAP if you want this!) You'll need to keep props limited to an amount that is easy to carry around, or it will really hamper your experience.

I don't know what to do in front of the camera!Part of my job as your senior photographer is to help get you feeling comfortable and like yourself on camera. I'm not just there to take your picture - I'm there to get to know you so we can capture photos you'll be happy to look back on for years and years. It can be a huge new experience to have a camera in your face, so it's totally OK to feel strange at first. I have tons and tons of posing suggestions, inspo photos to show you, and other prompts to help get you feeling comfortable and confident in front of the camera! You'll never feel like you don't know what to do. As our session goes on, we'll have more and more conversation and I'll get a better sense of your personality to help you feel like yourself in your photos.
-
I have a bruise/zit/acne! Can you get rid of that?My rule for retouching is that if it will be gone in 6 months, then I will do my best to remove it, though for larger blemishes closer to your eyes, nose, or mouth I may not be able to fully remove something. Casts for broken bones are an exception to this - and honestly that makes for a really memorable photoshoot! If you have concerns about this, communicate to me prior to the shoot and we can talk about your options. Flyaway hairs, stubble or other facial hair, clothing wrinkles, and lines from undergarments on your outfit are generally not possible to remove. Always steam or iron your outfit and do a good check in the mirror before you leave for your session. It's never a bad idea to bring extra makeup and hair product for touchups during the shoot too!
-
When do I get my pictures after the shoot? You will receive a sneak peek (1-2 images) via e-mail within a week after the shoot, and if you would like, on my social media as well! Your finished images will be ready by two weeks after the shoot date.
-
How many pictures will I get?You will get 15-20 photos per person from a Basic Session, and 25-35 photos from a Deluxe Session.
-
Can I print my photos?Yes! Once you receive your photos and have fully paid off your session, the photos are yours to do with as you please, including post to social media, create announcements and cards, and print.
